Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how ScootGo collects, uses, and shares information when you use the ScootGo customer app and our public website (scootgo.app). ScootGo helps customers in selected United Arab Emirates areas discover nearby local shops, browse products, place orders, and get support.

Information we collect

We may collect the following types of information:

  • Account details: Information you provide when you register or manage your account, such as your name, email address, or mobile number.
  • Login identifiers: Information used to sign in and manage your account access.
  • Delivery and contact details: Address or contact information you provide for deliveries, order coordination, or account support.
  • Location-related details: Location or area information you provide or allow when using ScootGo (see Location information below).
  • Orders and marketplace activity: Cart contents, order details, shops or products ordered, order status and tracking, favorites or saved shops, and related account activity needed to operate the service.
  • Support messages: Information you send when you contact us for help.
  • App and website usage: Information about how you use ScootGo that we need to provide, maintain, and improve the service.
  • Device and app information: Device or app identifiers, IP address, diagnostics, crash logs, error logs, and technical information needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve ScootGo and its maps or location features.

Location information

We use location information to show nearby shops, products, and delivery availability. Location may come from device permission, an address you provide, or a selected area or location if supported by the app.

You can control device location permissions through your device settings. Available shops, products, and delivery options may vary by location and depend on participating shops and their delivery coverage.

Orders, cart, and marketplace activity

ScootGo may process information related to:

  • Items in your cart and orders you place
  • Shops and products you order from
  • Order status and tracking
  • Favorites or saved shops
  • Customer support related to your orders
  • Account activity needed to operate the service

When you place an order, we may share relevant order and delivery information with the participating shop, such as your name, phone number, delivery address, ordered items, order notes, order status, and other details needed to review, prepare, fulfill, deliver, or manage your order.

Device, app, browser, and website information

We may collect device, app, browser, or website information needed to operate ScootGo, such as:

  • Device type and general app or browser information
  • IP address or log information related to your use of the service
  • Error logs, crash logs, diagnostics, security, troubleshooting, and reliability information to help keep ScootGo working
  • Device or app identifiers and other technical information used by ScootGo or third-party services that support maps, location, security, diagnostics, and app functionality

Third-party maps and technical services

ScootGo may use third-party services, including Google Maps services, to provide maps, location-based search, delivery area features, and related app functionality. These services may process information such as location data, device or app identifiers, IP address, diagnostics, crash information, and technical usage information as needed to provide, secure, maintain, and improve those services.

These third-party services process information according to their own privacy policies and terms.

How we use information

We may use information to:

  • Provide and operate the ScootGo app and public website
  • Show nearby shops, products, and delivery availability
  • Process and manage orders and account activity
  • Support buyer accounts and provide customer support
  • Improve reliability and user experience
  • Help prevent abuse, fraud, or security issues
  • Respond to legal or support requests
  • Send service-related communications, such as order updates or messages about your account or orders

Sharing information

We may share information:

  • With participating shops as needed to review, prepare, fulfill, deliver, coordinate, or manage orders, including relevant customer, delivery, and order details
  • With service providers that help us operate ScootGo (for example, hosting, authentication, maps, location services, diagnostics, or technical infrastructure providers such as Supabase, Cloudflare, and Google Maps services)
  • For legal, safety, fraud prevention, or security reasons, or when required by law
  • In connection with a business transfer, merger, or similar event, if applicable

We do not sell your personal information.

Supplier / shop-owner privacy

ScootGo has a separate Supplier Privacy Policy for shop owners and partner shops using ScootGo Shop. That policy covers shop-owner and business data. This page focuses on customer and public website privacy.

Data retention

We keep information as long as needed to provide ScootGo, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and operate the service. We may keep certain records where needed for legal, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or operational reasons.

User choices and account deletion

  • You can control device location permissions through your device settings.
  • You may be able to update certain account details in the app where that feature is available.
  • You can contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of your account information. See our Delete Account page and Support page for more information.

Account deletion is request-based and may not be immediate. Active orders may need to be completed or cancelled before we can finish processing a deletion request. Some records may be retained where needed for legal, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or operational reasons.

Children

ScootGo is not intended for children under the age required to use online services in their location.

Security

ScootGo uses reasonable safeguards to help protect information, including transferring data over secure connections where applicable. However, no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page.
